I’m a student at Stanford University originally from Istanbul, Turkey. From improving healthcare to preserving culture and rectifying historical inequalities, I'm driven to understand how we can design for evolving technological and human needs.
My personal interests include making coffee (armed with my Gaggia Classic Pro and my V60), international politics, cooking, Middle Eastern history, and multilingualism. I speak English, Turkish, and French and hope to learn Greek and Arabic to feel more connected to my origins and home geography.
I started Stanford as a double major in Bioengineering and Philosophy. I then discovered Symbolic Systems, my major for my Bachelor's. SymSys, as a medium for studying philosophy, cognitive science, linguistics, and computer science provided an excellent segue into specialising in Computer Science for my Master's.
I'm still a student of many disciplines and first and foremost a curious human being. My background as a woman who grew up in one of the most culturally rich countries in the world engrained in me a love for history, culture, and understanding society.
